Our collaboration
Erwin from Becoming Productive International approached me to help redesign his website and move it onto a more flexible and cost-effective platform.
Although Erwin is based in Malaysia, we worked closely throughout the project using regular Zoom calls alongside a shared Trello board to plan, track progress and agree next steps. This allowed us to collaborate effectively despite the distance and time difference.
At the outset, we agreed to move the website from HeartInternet to SiteGround and to change the domain name. These changes were completed before the rebuild began, allowing the new site to be developed on the new hosting and domain while the existing site remained live.
Erwin had been using a commercial learning management system that was proving expensive. After reviewing the requirements, we selected LearnPress, a WordPress learning management plugin that offered similar functionality at a significantly lower ongoing cost. I set up LearnPress, migrated existing course content and videos, and rebuilt the website using the Divi theme to give full control over layout and design.
As part of the delivery, I also supported Erwin in configuring PayPal as the payment gateway within LearnPress, ensuring the site was ready to take payments when it went live. The project resulted in a redesigned, more sustainable website platform that better supported his online courses and international audience.
